From 15th to 18th of November the MageTestFest took place in the Dutch city Amersfoort close to Utrecht and Amsterdam. We have sponsored the event and been on site of course. Our Magento developer Benjamin was there for two days and enjoyed his trip rife with Magento 2, PHP, testing and having fun.
At the conference day on November 17th, he has learned a lot about possibilities, workflows and saw how TDD can work in a live demonstration. Sebastian Bergmann - creator and developer of PHPUnit, founder of thePHP.cc - himself reported about the future of PHPUnit and how to work with it. As an example, that we should update our PHP tests once per year for the latest PHPUnit version. At the end of the presentation sessions, all speakers held a session for Q&A to all testing relevant topics and continued the discussions in the beautiful evening in Amersfoort.
The after show party had surprises for everyone. Tasty spicy dishes from the Netherlands and two contests, which were prepared by MultiSafePay and Youwe. For the latter one Netresearch could prove their PHP skills and have won a keyboard that evening. The next day, on November 18th, a contribution day for all developers was held to improve Magento together with Magento core members. This event has proven once again that the community of Magento is strong and works together through the countries and companies to prepare Magento e-commerce ready for the future.
It was a great event with nice people, very interesting topics and much input to stay up to date for our clients. Thank you Yireo and especially to Jisse Reitsma for the organisation and your input!
