gettex: modular stock exchange data platform with financial.com and TYPO3 v12
Netresearch has modernised the technical infrastructure for the provision of stock exchange data for gettex, the trading system of the Munich Stock Exchange. The project centred on switching the data provider for all securities and market data from Teletrader to financial.com and upgrading the platform to TYPO3 version 12.
The Munich Stock Exchange defined the strategic goals for this project, financial.com was responsible for providing the trading data and the agency Unibrand developed the visual design. Netresearch took over the technical integration of the financial.com widgets in TYPO3 and implemented the design and page structure. In addition, relevant functions were migrated from the existing system and the deployment and overall technical architecture were modernised.
New data architecture through widgets, clear role allocation & upgrade to TYPO3 v12
As a service provider, financial.com takes over the aggregation of trading data and delivers it as ready-made JavaScript widgets. Price data and market developments are provided in standardised form and integrated directly into gettex.de. TYPO3 concentrates on its core task as a CMS: structure, content and editorial enrichment. This clear separation ensures a robust architecture and simplifies maintenance. Changes to the data logic can therefore be made largely independently of the CMS. As part of the reorganisation, the platform was updated to TYPO3 version 12. The upgrade ensures long-term stability, security and performance. Existing functionalities were reviewed, consolidated and transferred to the new structure in a targeted manner - technical legacy issues were reduced in the process.
Thanks to the modular architecture of the system, updates and extensions can now be carried out independently of each other. This has created the basis for low-maintenance, long-term operation and the possibility of further developments at any time.
