New name, new platform: "Bundesfernstraßen digital" design and brand relaunch
Between the end of the year and the beginning of the year, there is little room for manoeuvre for many projects. This makes clear decisions, well-organised processes and a clean technical basis all the more crucial. It was precisely these factors that characterised the brand and design relaunch of BIM Bundesfernstraßen, which we successfully implemented at the turn of the year 2025/2026. Since then, the platform has been operating under the new name bundesfernstrassen-digital.de - with a new look, new content structure, up-to-date technology and a go-live that was realised on schedule in a short space of time.
Clear requirements, tight time frame, one goal
The relaunch not only included a visual and content reorganisation, but also a technical upgrade to TYPO3 13.4 LTS. The platform was supplemented by a Brevo newsletter integration. The project period of around one month from the end of December left hardly any room for detours. Accordingly, it was important to precisely coordinate all requirements and realistically assess feasibility, effort and costs. A special feature of the project was that the previous main site was completely integrated into the new domain. There was no parallel operation, but a clear cut. This meant that it was clear from the outset that the concept, design, technology and go-live had to dovetail seamlessly.
Structured implementation instead of long lead times
The basis for the rapid realisation was a clear project structure. The design concept, technical feasibility and cost calculation were already considered together in the early phase. Based on this, a robust project and implementation plan was created that provided orientation even under time pressure. Decisions could thus be made quickly and implemented directly - without subsequent correction loops. This was particularly important in view of the fact that the main implementation took place during the Christmas holidays, which meant that many of the responsible stakeholders were unavailable.
The new design translates the brand identity of "Bundesfernstraßen Digital" into a clear, functional design. At the same time, the TYPO3 upgrade ensures a future-proof basis that guarantees security, maintainability and expandability. The newsletter connection fits into the overall system both technically and editorially and supports consistent communication.
Result: fast relaunch, stable basis, clear focus
With the go-live of bundesfernstrassen-digital.de, a platform is now available that has been consistently reorganised in a short space of time - in terms of content, visuals and technology. The project shows that sustainable solutions are possible even under tight time constraints if requirements are clearly formulated, processes are planned in a structured manner and decisions are consistently implemented. For communication and marketing projects, this means one thing above all: speed does not come from shortcuts, but from clarity.
