Modular, multi-domain capable, user-centred: New TYPO3 website for Mittweida University of Applied Sciences

We are pleased to announce a new project: We have won the tender for the website relaunch of the TYPO3 website of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences - and the project is already in full swing.

Together with the university, we are realising the technical relaunch of the central website, the microsites and the new intranet. The aim is to create a modern, user-centred and future-proof website that brings the university's new brand strategy to life digitally.

In the course of the relaunch, a landscape of decentralised project and faculty sites that has grown over the past few years will also be reorganised. Many of these microsites were created independently and are not always CD-compliant. In future, such sites will be systematically reintegrated into a common, multidomain-capable platform - with clear templates, a standardised technical basis and significantly simplified maintenance.
The technical concept has been finalised and the basic template is ready. We are currently working on API connections and individual TYPO3 extensions to intelligently link existing systems, optimise editorial processes and increase the topicality and consistency of content.

A particular focus is on the strengths of TYPO3 in the university environment:

Multidomain and multisite capability for faculties, institutes and projects
A finely granular role and rights management system for large editorial teams
editorial workflows for drafting, checking and approval
as well as a scalable, accessible and multilingual architecture as a long-term basis.

We can build on our many years of experience from comparable university projects - including for the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Administration of Justice, the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences for Telecommunications, the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management and the University of Leipzig. This expertise flows directly into the conception, technical implementation and process design.

We are looking forward to the next project phases and to making further progress with the relaunch in the coming months.
