futureSAX connect: Effective networking with TYPO3 event management
Offline events continue to play an indispensable role in networking and maintaining personal relationships. Increasingly, these events can be combined with the organisers' online tools. Our customer futureSAX is also following this path with its TYPO3-based innovation platform. futureSAX organises numerous events every year with a large number of participants, thus networking the tech, start-up and investor scene in Saxony. Netresearch has now added functions to the TYPO3 event management system that are intended to promote contact between event visitors directly at the offline event. To this end, the functionality of the TYPO3 extension for event management (sf_event_mgt) has been extended.
Function #1: List of participants with participant role
With a "My futureSAX" account, participants can display a list of participants with their respective role (investor, founder, etc.) for each event. Event participants can decide for themselves whether they want to be specifically named in the list or not. The new list of participants allows registered founders, for example, to check before the event whether potential investors will be present. This function offers a new opportunity to search specifically for suitable contacts and build valuable relationships.
Function #2: Networking participants via participant list
When networking at local events, it is often left to chance who you meet and who you talk to. It is not so easy to recognise the right person to talk to and sometimes it is simply difficult to make contact. This is where the expansion of the event management functions comes in. Registered participants of an offline event have the opportunity to get in touch with each other a few days before the event as well as during the event itself, e.g. via mobile phone. This makes it quick and easy to find suitable contacts and makes attending the event much more efficient for participants. Of course, futureSAX respects the privacy of participants. When registering, everyone can decide whether or not they wish to be contactable by other participants. This choice guarantees a pleasant and respectful networking experience for all participants. In addition, only the initial contact is organised via the platform; the writing participant does not see the e-mail address of the receiving participant. The message is composed using the envelope symbol. It then lands in the recipient's e-mail inbox as an Infomail (customised template from futureSAX) with the content of the message. futureSAX cannot read the message and only sees who has been in contact and when. Further communication then takes place via the participants' mail programmes. The superstructure of a comprehensive messaging function, including the associated side effects such as high user expectations in terms of functionality, the need for moderation, data protection challenges, etc., are therefore eliminated.
Advantage for participants, founders and all companies: Effective networking
Thanks to these innovative functions, futureSAX enables a valuable exchange in digital form even before the actual networking event and thus goes one step further in the direction of a modern innovation platform. For founders, start-ups and companies, these innovations offer an excellent opportunity to expand their network and connect with the right partners. Netresearch was responsible for both the design and the technical implementation of the new futureSAX connect function. We are proud to be able to give futureSAX completely new networking opportunities in the start-up scene with the customised functions.
