AIDA Cruises is a brand of the cruise company Carnival Corporation & plc and is specifically geared towards the German target group. AIDA’s ships have been traveling the sea since 1996. With the idea of offering cruises as a contemporary lifestyle product, AIDA has redesigned the German cruise market.

The plan


AIDA provides unforgettable travel experiences at sea. With the AIDAaura, AIDAcara, AIDAvita and the new ship AIDAmira, extraordinary routes are covered and dreams come true. AIDA wanted to give travelers the opportunity to experience this diversity visually before the trip even starts. For this purpose, a website with impressive imagery should be programmed and implemented: AIDA Selection. As a long-standing customer, AIDA approached us in 2016 with this new concept.

Implementation


For the whole project - from kick-off to the finished website - 8 weeks were planned. After the first concept presentation of the new AIDA Selection program, the subtleties were coordinated with us during the next 2 weeks. The website then went into development, based on the powerful TYPO3 content management system. Thanks to almost 20 years of experience in programming TYPO3 and a wide range of know-how regarding extensions, we have managed to finish the website in the promised 6 weeks. As an expert for complex TYPO3 websites and agile project management, we were able to respond promptly to requests and requirements. In accordance with our high quality standards, we were able to react quickly to changing design specifications during reviews with AIDA.

The result


AIDA received an impressive website with extraordinary routes from Greenland to Namibia. AIDA's wish to fill the website with expressive imagery has thus come true. The atmosphere of the individual image worlds puts travelers in the mood for discovery even before they go on holiday. Thanks to the TYPO3 CMS and our expertise, we were able to hand over a flexible and user-friendly system to AIDA.
